Assignment #6-Black History Month

Hello, this is my respond for assignment #6. As you know, February is a special month(besides my birthday), it's... Black History Month!I'm researching on Mifflin Gibbs.

Mifflin Gibbs had to work when he was eight years-old.
He joined the Philadelphia Library Company, and was involved with the Underground Railroad, but at last he found a successful profession.
Mifflin Gibbs was an important man in his society. "Conditions were deteriorating for the African American community in California. However Gibbs actively protested against the rising discrimination.
He helped to find and publish the Mirror of the Times (San Francisco), which advocated equal rights for all. In 1857 he and his partner, Peter Lester, refused to pay the poll tax since they were not allowed to vote," I got this quotation here.
In 1858, he decided to move to a British colony, because the "Blacks" had the reassurance of protection of British law. Later on, he moved to United States, and was well known as a first black politician.

as always, thanks for reading, and again DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT!Kidding....(but I'm pretty serious)

buh bye..

It's So SAD!

Hi...I feel so, so sad! :,(

My class was talking about the Holocaust, and told us about the experiments that they did to the Jews, or the people that were kept in Auschwitz... and you don't even want to hear it! Me, myself had been there when I was in Europe. I visited Auschwitz 1 in Oswiecim, and actually I was told about a lot of things, but I don't really understood what they meant (I was 8 that time, and they talked in English, which I didn't understand that well).

They said that... Hitler had a revenge(which really sounds weird) to the Jews, because his mom wasn't married(so Hitler didn't have father) but she had born Hitler. Then the Jews weren't really friendly to him, and his mom, so he started to hate the Jews.

Hitler moved to Germany, and it was amazing, because in Austria he didn't have any "life", but it seemed that in Germany everybody knew him(AND respected him).
That is when he started with those labor, concentration, and death camps, because he had never forget how his life was when he was small, and still with his mom(which of course is bitterness ).

Well, that's at least what I remember . I hope this answers your question"Why does Hitler hated Jews?"

That is all I want to write, because this had been disturbing me! Hope you enjoyed it, feel free to comment, and thanks for reading this!

Assignment #4-Linking Back to Your Peers

Hey ya... this is my respond to assignment #4

my classmate's answer on assignment #3 that interests me is when Kerry "I also think that there will be some war and it will be a world war not a civil war." She predicted that the war that past will begin again, and the "Population Law" will appear because of the population that was too big.

I like Gofran's thought. Maybe some people will like it, and some people don’t because they like going to school. Anyways, what Gofran said was "
And maybe five days of weekend and only two days of school!"

This is the other responds or thought for assignment#3. It's from Mariam M. What she said is "I think we will be living underwater because of what will happen to the glaciers when they melt."
She thought of the population's effect, but she thought of the solution that actually I didn't think of...

Well, that's all I have to say, thank you for reading, and...
Bye (see you soon, I mean WRITE you soon.)

Assignment #3- History of the Future

Hi, this is my response to assignment #3,

which will be about Christopher Moore, on one of his blog entry(To the Nines-reviewing the centuries.)

The year of 2009 might be more interesting. Even though we just started 2009,
it's like we can see what would happen next. More people are moving in,
and as time went on, more technology are invented. That's not problem.
There are many jobs that they can appoint to.

Well, Canada has changed a lot, from decades. The environment, population, etc...
I speculate that 2109 will be much different, as well as 1809-1909. First, the environment will change, because the population is getting higher and higher each year.
But the technology might increase too.
So there might be some positives, and some negatives that might happen.

(positives-the jobs that a person can work on is substituted with a mechanical tool.
negatives- a lot of people will lost their jobs.)

So, that was my response for assignment #3, and hope you've enjoyed it,
and feel free to comment.

Thank you for reading....

Welcome everybody!

Hi, and welcome to my history blog.

I'm grade 7 student in Ottawa, Canada. We'll be learning about Canadian History.
Hope you enjoy it, and feel free to respond, or comment on my blog.

I'm really glad that there's a different way to learn about history.(we usually just sit, open our text books, and listening to our teachers for the whole period)and by blogging, maybe I might like
history a little.
